Team Building - Forehill/Middleton School
The Client
The Head Teacher at Forehill Primary School was looking for a team building activity (for their Staff in Service day) which would involve all teachers present and which would tackle a broad front of issues relevant to teachers. The client also wanted the event to be fun and memorable. Because of Budgetary constraints, Forehill's Head Teacher, approached the nearby Middleton Primary School to share the costs and to share the involvement and the mutual benefits.
Appointing Fifth Dimension
The Head Teacher, having seen us at a Teachers seminar, and having experienced our flag-ship Team Building product The Inspiration GameTM first hand, thought that it would meet her requirements in tackling such issues as, communication, leadership skills, project management, creativity, time management, problem solving, planning and the benefits of working in a team. Within the given time-frame they were also tasked with preparing a 5 minute presentation on:
The main challenges facing you in your working environment as you see it, detailing a positive solution(s) to the challenges and highlighting the qualities your team can bring to bear on driving the solution(s) forward.
The Results
Despite the fact that the tables were turned and we (Fifth Dimension) were the "teachers" and they were the "pupils", both schools were delighted with the results and especially enjoyed the fact that the event was inclusive and because of the combination of schools friendships and camaraderie was in abundance. The highly creative presentations given by the teams were wonderfully varied in delivery style and content. The main thrust of the presentational content was that teachers are overworked and under-paid.
