HSE - ChevronTexaco H&S Forum

The Client
As part of their annual H&S review, ChevronTexaco was looking for a creative manner in which to reiterate the importance of H&S issues with their existing key contractors. They were also looking to celebrate the valuable contribution of these contractors and were keen to implement an annual awards ceremony.

The attendees at the event included the Managing Director of ChevronTexaco in the UK together with senior management from the contractors.

Appointing Fifth Dimension
Having spoken to the client about Fifth Dimension at an awards dinner some time before, they were aware of, and interested in, our approach on H&S matters. When their own H&S Forum was imminent they contacted us for help and advice. In consultation with them, we recommended various options on how to structure the Forum. We suggested that our H&S presentation would be perfect for the afternoon session and would create food for thought for the delegates leading into the breakout sessions, which followed. In addition, we offered advice on the awards ceremony, on how many awards to have and the actual design of the Award itself. Having hosted many similar events, and to add a touch of the "Oscars" we also offered our services as compere with accompanying musical fanfares.

The Results
The day was a tremendous success and we received immediate feedback from a number of delegates that the H&S messages were communicated in an interesting and entertaining manner, which also provided food for thought and challenged various mindsets.

The organiser was obviously delighted with our involvement and shortly afterwards, booked us to work with them again at a different event. Further to this, ChevronTexaco recommended us to Shell who was looking for a unique approach to their H&S inductions and we were of course happy to receive this "word-of-mouth" recommendation.
